Application Process
STEP 1
Surface Preparation
The roof surface is pressure washed to remove all dirt, dust, and other foriegn contaminants. This step ensures maximum adhesion of the system to the roof substrate. In some cases, the use of a primer may be necessary. Any problem areas found during surface preparation must be properly addressed before the system can be installed.
STEP 3
BASE COAT APPLICATION
A base coat of High-Solids Silicone 412 is then applied. This low VOC (volatile organic compounds) base layer forms a flexible, rubber-like, impermeable membrane, and exhibits excellent adhesion to a variety of commercial and industrial flat roof substrates.
STEP 2
SEAMS & FLASHING DETAILS
All seams, transitions, penetrations, drains, and other flashing details are coated using Terminator 622 or Silicone Brush-Grade 422. These highly flexible mastics enable the system to withstand the natural expansion and contraction (thermal cycling) of the roof structure. This step of the application process is critical, as the details of a flat roof are the most common spots for leaks to occur.
STEP 4
TOP COAT APPLICATION
A top coat of High-Solids Silicone 412 is then applied. This top coat layer completes the system creating a seamless, flexible, highly-reflective membrane that provides industry-leading UV protection, weatherability, and resistance to ponding water.
